From a single
kitchen to a legacy.

2007
Sushiya is Born
Varun Modgill returns from Japan with a mission — to demystify sushi and make it a staple in the Indian home. Sushiya launches as India's very first dedicated sushi delivery service, from a single kitchen in Delhi.
2012
Sushiya Expands
Demand surges. Sushiya grows into a multi-kitchen cloud network across Delhi NCR and Mumbai, and opens retail outlets at Select Citywalk, Saket and DLF Mall of India.
2015
Tomato Private Limited is Established
A new vision takes form. Tomato Private Limited is founded as a dedicated food company — built to incubate, grow, and operate authentic Asian food brands for the Indian market.
2015–2020
Sushi Junction Joins the Portfolio
Tomato launches Sushi Junction — a brand born from the kitchen of a Japanese family in Gurgaon and winner of the Big F Jury's Choice Award for Best Online Delivery.
2020–2021
Acquisition & Consolidation
During COVID-19, Tomato acquires Sushiya and merges all brands under one roof — creating a unified group with shared infrastructure, values, and an unwavering vision for authentic Asian cuisine in India.
2021 – Present
A House of Six Brands
Miso, Daebak Cafe, Fuji House and Tokyo Fresh are launched — expanding the portfolio to pan-Asian and Korean cuisine, with 13 kitchens across four cities and growing.
